Brailey Johnson

Born a lover of movement and of play, Brailey jumped headfirst into dance in 2010 at the age of 15. After learning much of her dance foundation from Ginny Skinner Haynes as a Dutch Fork High School Dazzler, Brailey continued to pursue movement as a Dance minor at the University of South Carolina. While attending school, she was a founding member of Icono/CLASH, a group of dancers who taught and performed around the university.  Later, Brailey also joined the Fuse Artist Alliance as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and Social Media Manager.

In 2018, after choreographing a piece for the Emerging Artists Showcase in Columbia, SC, Brailey was inspired to start Brailey Jo and Co., which would later become the Johnson Company, a dance group deeply invested in bringing new expressions of dance to the Midlands. In addition to her work as a dancer with Moving Body Dance Company, she is also a member of the Power Company Collaborative and Yuhas and Dancers. Brailey was also a member of Greenville based company Vaughn Newman Dance in its inaugural season.

When she isn’t in rehearsal, Brailey works as dance teacher with Creative Movement and Dance and Southeastern School of Ballet, and also freelances as a photographer.
